The Summer Sizzler includes the following events:

• Formula 1 Triathlon: 400M Swim, 11 mile Bike, 1.8 mile Run. Recommended age 15. Individual Only.
• Sprint Triathlon: 400M Swim, 11 mile Bike, 1.8 mile Run. Recommended age 13. Individual or Relay.
• Aquabike: 400M Swim, 11 Mile Bike. Recommended age 13. Individual only.
• Duathlon: 3k Run, 11 mile Bike, 1.8 mile Run. Recommended age 13. Individual or Relay.
• Relay Teams - Short tri only
• USAT Membership

*** Additional USA Triathlon One Day Membership fee will be charged for each Adult that is not a member of USA Triathlon.

Course Maps

Courses are the same for all events with the exception of the Formula 1 second swim. The swim takes place in the Niagara River with a beach start using a time trial format. Athletes are lined up in numeric order with all F1 athletes first followed by all Sprint athletes. Once counted in, two or three people will enter the water at a time after walking over the timing mats. Swim Bike Run

NOTE: All athletes must pick up their race packets themselves. All members of the relay team must be present to pick up their packets. To register in person you will need to show a photo ID and present your USAT membership card. If you are a NOT a current member, you will need to purchase a membership prior to registering in person. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian present at registration.

Race Day Schedule

5:00am - Transition Opens
5:15am - Body Marking begins near transition
6:30am - Mandatory pre-race meeting in the transition area
6:45am - Packet Pick up closes at Beaver Island State Park.
6:45am - Transition area closes for the race to start on time
7:00am - Race Starts – Time Trial. All Adults

8:00am – Healthy Buffalo Kids Tri Registration Open
8:00am – Transition reopens to allow kids to rack their bikes
8:00am – Breakfast served
8:30am – 9:00am Healthy Buffalo Kids Tri Start*
*Time is approx. based on all F1 swimmers out of water

Race Starts
F1 and Sprint Tri: Time Trial format, beach start. Athletes line up in numerical order and sent off 2 at a time. There will only be a short pause between the F1 and Sprint athletes.
Duathlon: Duathlon start is directly behind the transition. This will a mass (group) start.

Refunds and Transfers

Refunds: Optional Registration Insurance is provided at the time of registration. No refunds other than through the insurance are allowed. Please refer to Insurance Confirmation email to make a claim.
Deferrals: Deferrals to 2025 are allowed through July 31st and can be accomplished through the website. There will be a $30 charge to defer.
Race Transfers: Requests for transfers to A Tri in the Buff can be made via email to Score This.
Event Transfers*: Athletes can initiate a transfer to a different Summer Sizzler event distance by logging into their Runsignup account. Select the Event > "Manage Registration" > "Transfer Event".

Summer Sizzler Triathlon Beaver Island State park is the perfect venue for a Formula 1 Triathlon. Swim-Bike-Run then Swim-Bike-Run all over again! This event also features a super sprint, duathon, and aquabike.
