Join us for one of the most classic, old-school, Northern California 50k trail races on Saturday, August 15th, 2026. The Tamalpa Headlands 50k, presented by Arc'teryx and the Tamalpa Runners of Marin, offers a spectacular setting for this classic, single-loop ultramarathon founded in 1998. The race features many of Marin County's most famous trails, including Coastal, Miwok, Steep Ravine, Matt Davis, and Dipsea. It is a demanding ultramarathon with approximately 6,500-feet of elevation gain, featuring fast fire road running, steep climbs, flowy singletrack, technical sections, and stunning views of the Bay Area, Pacific Ocean, and beyond. The start and finish are at the idyllic and beloved Santos Meadow.

• Elevation Gain: Approx. 6,500 feet
• Registration Closes: Tuesday, August 11, 2026, 11:59 PM PT
• Refund Policy: 50% refund if withdrawn by June 30. No refunds thereafter. No rollovers or exchanges.

Cutoff Times:

• Tennessee Valley - East: 11:30 AM (4 hours)
• Highway 1: 12:30 PM (5 hours)
• Cardiac 1st Pass: 2:00 PM (6 hours 30 min.)
• Stinson Beach: 3:30 PM (8 hours)
• Cardiac 2nd Pass: 4:45 PM (9 hours 15 min.)
• Santos Meadows Finish: 5:30 PM (10 hours)

Important Notes:

• This is a cup-free race; runners must carry their own drinking device.
• Dogs are not allowed at Santos Meadows.
• Numbers must be worn on the front and visible.
• Runners do not have the right of way at road crossings or on trails.
• Be courteous and respectful of other trail users.
• Runners will be disqualified for cutting switchbacks.
