The Angry Chicken Race Series

It's not summer without the Angry Chicken Race Series! Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. The races are run each Tuesday evening starting at 7PM (early start at 6:50), from June 9th to August 11th (eight races).

Scoring will give 1000 points to the race winner, and everyone else a percentage of that based on their finish time. All eight races will be scored, with prizes to the winners given out after Race 8 on August 11th. A minimum of three races must be run to win.

Sign up for all 8 races before June 1st to receive a free race t-shirt!! Each race will have a theme, with a small prize for the best costume!

Note: there will be no race June 30th or July 28th.

The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road).

Bib pick-up is on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:45 PM at Marx Running and Fitness, 118 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell.

Donations benefit Catie's Closet, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides clothes, toiletries, and other basic essentials to students living in poverty.

For the final race on August 11th, we'll be collecting new and gently used youth/teen clothing, and full-sized toiletries.
