Aloha, Runners! Welcome to The Big Kahuna! Grab your shades, lace up your shoes, and get ready to run the island way — The Big Kahuna is bringing tropical vibes, bright colors, and summer energy to the race course this June! Hosted by Bigfoot Running Company, this family-friendly morning race blends serious miles with laid-back luau fun. Whether you’re cruising the 5K or chasing waves in the 10K, you’ll finish feeling like the biggest Kahuna on the island. This isn’t just a run — it’s a tropical party on the move, complete with island-inspired energy, music at the finish line, and all the fun you expect from a Bigfoot event.

Race Distances

• Kids Dash - (10 & Under): A short, fun dash designed just for kids! Includes a race tee, special Kids Dash medal, and tropical treat. Not timed.
• 1 Mile: Perfect for families, beginners, walkers, and casual runners. Includes a race tee, finisher medal, and tropical treat. Not chip-timed.
• 5K (3.11 miles) – “The Island Dash”: Perfect for runners, joggers, and walkers looking for a fun summer race. Chip-timed with awards and post-race celebration. Includes a race tee, finisher medal, and tropical treat ticket. Awards for 1st Overall M/F, 1st Masters (40+), and standard age-group awards.
• 10K (6.22 miles) – “The Big Kahuna Challenge”: More miles, more bragging rights, more island glory! Chip-timed with awards and full finish-line festivities. Includes a race tee, finisher medal, and tropical treat ticket. Awards for 1st Overall M/F, 1st Masters (40+), and standard age-group awards.

Event Schedule

• 5:30–6:45 AM — Packet Pickup
• 6:55 AM — Kids Dash Start
• 7:00 AM — National Anthem & Race Start

Finish-line celebrations and awards follow the race.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Then Run (5K Only): Includes a custom chip-timed bib, race tee, and finisher medal. Limited to the first 10 sign-ups.

Full Race Volunteer (Not Running): Sign up under the VOLUNTEER tab. Receive a Bigfoot race shirt, VIP race access, and your choice of a FREE future race entry or a $20 digital gift card.

Various volunteer roles are available, including Water Station, Course Monitors, Finish Line Helper, Turtle/Sweeper, Packet Pickup/Results, Floater, and Lead Bike.

Important Notes: Shirt guarantee: Register at least 10 days before race day. Packet Pickup: Always open 1.5 hours before race start. Course Terrain: Expect a mix of pavement, crushed granite, and some unavoidable dirt paths. Events take place in parks and greenbelts — please be mindful of dog walkers, cyclists, and picnickers.
