Don't walk the plank, run the park! Join us for the 5th Annual Big Pirate Run taking place at Garry Point Park on Saturday, September 19, 2026. This event is suitable for all ages and abilities, including strollers and leashed dogs.

The event offers the following distances:

• 5km/10km/15km and 21.1km (half marathon) Big Pirate Run/Walk (starting 8:30/9am) along The West Dyke and Middle Arm Trail's.
• 1-3km Little Pirate Run/Walk (starting 10:00am) around scenic Garry Point Park.

Run with your ship mates, enjoy door prize giveaways, vendors and more. The course tours picturesque West Dyke and Middle Arm Trail's, starting at Garry Point Park and passing sights including Terra Nova Park and The Richmond Olympic Oval. With minimal inclines and stable gravel trails, it's a beautiful and stress-free run/walk. The route is pet & stroller friendly (pets and strollers must start in the last wave).

Registration includes: Pirate Name Bib (Customize by August 23rd 11:59pm), Pirate costume item, Wooden Finishers Souvenir, Chip timing for 5km-21.1km, Finish Clock for kids 1-3km (no chip timing).

Packet Pickup:

• Thursday September 17th from 12noon to 6pm at Kintec Burnaby.
• Friday September 18th from 12noon to 4pm (TBC) at Richmond Food Bank.
• Sunday 21st September (onsite) 07:45am for 21.1km participants, 8:15am onwards for all distances (*FEE APPLIES* - $3 if pre-purchased online, $5 cash on the day).
