Kick off your Thanksgiving with a 3 Mile Run or a 1 Mile Walk with Elite Community Outreach! The 2026 Elite Chocolate Turkey 3 Mile Run & 1 Mile Walk is a new Thanksgiving Day tradition funding the next chapter of Elite Community Outreach. Let’s team up with family and friends along the Riverfront on Thanksgiving morning to support Elite! Run, walk, dance, or watch; all are welcome no matter how you participate. The Elite Chocolate Turkey is all about being together and giving thanks as a community while supporting our future. The Elite Holiday Choir will serenade us into the season and plenty of chocolate will reward us at the finish line, where participants can connect over hot cocoa and treats before heading home for holiday festivities.

Race Photography

Elite Community Outreach is generously sponsoring the race photography for this year's Chocolate Turkey. When you make a donation of any amount to their organization, you will receive all of your race photos along with a race video. Already Registered, but didn't donate? DONATE TO ELITE COMMUNITY OUTREACH HERE and you will receive your race photos & video!

Race Swag

Participants in both races receive a triblend raglan long-sleeve crewneck Elite Chocolate Turkey race s hirt, a 3 .5 oz solid chocolate turkey, and best of all - post race chocolate goodies. Race shirts and chocolate turkeys ARE LIMITED and WILL SELL OUT ~ quantities remaining are identified in registration ~ HURRY to be one of the first 2500 participants to guarantee your swag!

Parking

Parking is available at various lots along the Peoria Riverfront. Street parking is also available anywhere downtown. DO NOT park in the underground garage behind the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

NOTE: there will NOT be an awards ceremony. Please check the results after you finish to see if you placed in the top 3 of your age group (division). If you placed in the top 3 in your age group, head over to the results table to claim your Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Apple award. If you are unable pick up your award at the race, you can pick up your award at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory anytime during store hours on Friday, Saturday or Monday, 10am to 7pm or Sunday, 10am to 5pm. D ue to the perishable nature of the awards, MONDAY is the last day to pick up an award.

Making a Profound Impact in the Community Elite Community Outreach is a 501c3 based in Peoria, IL making a difference in schools, in jails, and on the streets by creating economic opportunity, offering second chances and real solutions. Through Elite, we teach that life is about choices and possibilities . It’s about teaching that today does not dictate your tomorrow. We also believe that a consequence early is better than a consequence late. Our programs keep troubled youth in school and off the streets and provide soft-skills job training to ex-felons re-entering the working world.
