The Last Annual Heart of the South Road Race

The HOTS is an adventure for only the most daring. Runners assemble on Wednesday morning, board buses, and are taken to a destination 300-350 miles away. After an overnight stay, they'll be bused to the start. With only supplies they can carry, they have 10 days to get back to their vehicles. Twice-daily tracking is maintained, and those wishing to drop out will be transported back. Finishers will be shuttled to motels near the finish.

Refunds: 90% refunds are available until December 24. Refunds after that time depend on replacing the entrant from the waitlist. Refunds will be made on a declining scale.

Wait List: A waitlist will be maintained after the race fills.

Check-Ins: All entrants must report their location by phone at 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM each day.

Dropping Out: Runners may drop out at any time by calling and requesting a ride.
