The historic Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler will celebrate its 52nd year of running on September 26, 2026. Join more than 3,500 runners on a historic course that has hosted participants from around the globe. The 10 mile run, 4+ mile run and 4+ mile walk invite men, women, and children of all abilities to participate. On Saturday, thousands will take part in the 10 mile run and our 4+ mile run/walk with our 11th Mile After Party to follow later that afternoon. The Lynchburg Road Runners Club, founded in 1973 to organize the Virginia 10 Miler, continues to own and organize the Moore & Giles 10 Miler and its associated events.

REFUND, TRANSFER, REFERRAL POLICY Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Entry fees cannot be applied to future races or events and/or transferred to another person. Participants may not change from one race to another. Please note: No strollers, personal music devices, or umbrellas during participation. No Pets of any kind.

COURSE

VIRGINIA 10 MILER COURSE PROFILE - 10 MI Runners proceed north on Langhorne Road for 3 miles, the first 1.5 miles are downhill after which runners climb Langhorne Road to Rivermont Terrace reaching the 3 mile mark and proceeding onto Rivermont Terrace. After a short distance on Rivermont Terrace, runners turn east onto historic Rivermont Avenue running past Randolph College (4/6 mile) and continuing down Rivermont Avenue to Riverside Park (4.5 mile). The course proceeds clockwise through Riverside Park overlooking the James River. Runners return same route finishing up the infamous, 1.5 mile “Farm Basket” hill.

4+ MILE RUN & WALK - 4.3 MI Our shorter distance participants will run/walk Lynchburg's newest trail extension (Langhorne Road Bridge), the challenge of Farm Basket Hill, and the excitement of finishing at E.C. Glass High School. The start and finish for the 4.3 mile event are the same. Participants proceed down Langhorne Road following the 10 Miler course past Farm Basket to Cranehill. Turning Left onto Cranehill participants proceed .2 miles to Linkhorne Middle School turning left into the school entrance from Cranehill Drive and following the parking lot driveway to the Blackwater Creek Bikeway Langhorne Bridge Trail extension. Participants will enjoy a paved bikeway above Langhorne Road as they cross Langhorne Road Bridge, turning off the bikeway at the Awareness Garden and onto Old Langhorne Road. Participants rejoin Langhorne Road proceeding underneath Langhorne Road Bridge and travel back to E.C. Glass High School up Farm Basket Hill (Langhorne Road, 1.5 miles).

FINISHER MEDALS & SHIRTS

Commemorative Finisher Medals to all that finish the Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler. Commemorative Finisher Medals to all that finish the Virginia 4+ Mile events. Event t-shirts are guaranteed to those that register on or before September 1st. Registrations received on September 2nd thru September 26th are not guaranteed a shirt. Extra shirts are available on a first-come basis at packet pickup.

STROLLER & PET POLICY

STROLLER POLICY Pushing, running, or walking with a stroller in any of our events is strictly prohibited unless required by ADA regulations/laws. This would also include carrying a child on your back, front, side, shoulders, hip, on a leash, etc.. Seriously, this is important for the safety of you, your child and other participants.

DOGS & PETS Do not participate with your dog, cat, snake, or any other animal. We love pets. But, how they behave and how others react to them is unpredictable. Please leave your pets at home.

*Please note that failing to follow these policies may affect the acceptance of future registrations for Lynchburg Road Runners Club events.

MUSIC ON THE COURSE

Our tradition of live music along the course will keep you movin and groovin. We expect more than five music stations located along the 10 Miler course for 2026.

CORPORATE TEAM COMPETION

A Corporate Team Competition will take place for the 10 run event and is available ONLY to our corporate partners/sponsors. Typically, these registrations are taken through a corporate registration portal. Our corporate team competition is available exclusively to our event sponsors. There will be 3 team categories; Mixed, Male, and Female. Awards will be given to the top scoring team in each category. The best 5 corporate finishers, for each team category, will be designated as that corporation's team. Teams will be ranked by the cumulative time of the 5 best team finishers. Team entries will be accepted until September 15, 2026. Corporate entries will only be accepted online or submitted to the Race Director with prior arrangement. ALL COMPETITORS FOR A CORPORATE TEAM MUST BE EMPLOYED BY THE COMPANY THEY ARE DECLARING. FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF A COMPANY WILL NOT QUALIFY.
