OVERVIEW

Welcome to The Ruff. The only race that runs up Dog Mountain in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. It is a chance for you to test your lungs by running straight up 3miles (and 3000ft) to the summit of Dog Mountain and then testing your quads by bombing down 4 miles to the finish. You will have beautiful views of the Columbia River below, Mt Hood to the south and Mt St. Helens to the west. This is my favorite trail to run anywhere. You feel like you are high up in the Colorado mountains but get the benefit of thicker air to breathe!

BIB PICKUP

8AM to 9:45 AM morning of race at the Dog Mtn Trailhead. Please try to carpool to the start at Dog Mountain Trailhead if possible as there is limited parking.

COURSE

The race starts/finishes at the Dog Mountain Trailhead. The 7mile course is run entirely on single-track trails. You will take the Dog Mountain Trail to the summit and then come down Augspurger Trail.

AWARDS

Top 3 male/female will receive an award. Top masters male/female wil receive an award. First place male/female will receive a free pair of Inov-8 shoes!

The fastest male/female downhill time will receive an award from our sponsors. Eligible to win only one award

FOOD and DRINKS

Beer will be provided by Ninkasi Brewing Company! Will also have pizza provided by Backwoods Brewing Company.
