If you’re looking for a solidly difficult, early-year ass-kicking, Tiger Claw in Issaquah, WA is the event for you. The challenging trail running event features steep uphills and focused downhills on rugged Pacific Northwest terrain. Participants can choose the order in which they complete the loops, with options for different distances and difficulties.
The Tiger Claw Ascent is a vertical climb to the summit of West Tiger 2 via the Cable Line route, offering a challenging 2.5-mile, 2500ft of vert beast where testing climbing speed is key. After reaching the top, runners will enjoy a leisurely 3-mile hike back to the trailhead.
The Tiger Claw Double is an extremely tough 50-mile adventure that completes the course twice, once in each direction. Runners can choose the order in which they complete the loops, with nearly 17,000ft of vertical gain in total.
There are two aid stations, Lower and Upper, providing a variety of drinks and snacks. It is mandatory to carry at least one water bottle, as cups will not be available at aid stations. Cutoff times apply for each race distance.
Registration details, waitlist policy, and additional information can be found on the event website. Men, women, and non-binary podiums are featured with equal prizing for top runners in all events. Volunteer opportunities are also available.
