The Trail Rail Run offers a variety of race lengths including 50 Mile, 50K, 30K, 12K, and 5K for individual runners. Additionally, there are options for a 50 Mile Team Relay and a 50 Mile Hand Cyclist event.

The courses utilize abandoned Northern Pacific Railroad and Milwaukee Railroad grades, starting from Mullan, Idaho, and finishing at St. Regis Community Park in Montana. The route features historic train trestles, a tunnel, and parallels the scenic St. Regis River.

• 50 Mile: Price: $125, Time: 7:00 AM MDT - 9:00 PM MDT
• 50K: Price: $95, Time: 8:00 AM MDT - 9:00 PM MDT
• 30k: Price: $75, Time: 9:00 AM MDT - 9:00 PM MDT
• 12k: Price: $45, Time: 10:00 AM MDT - 9:00 PM MDT
• 5k: Price: $25, Time: 10:15 AM MDT - 9:00 PM MDT
• 50 Mile Hand Cyclist: Price: $100, Time: 7:00 AM MDT - 9:00 PM MDT
• 50 Mile Relay: Price: $50, Time: 7:00 AM MDT - 9:00 PM MDT

Registration for all events opens on December 1, 2025, at 12:01 AM MST.

All participants receive a t-shirt. Individual 50-Mile runners registered by April 1st are guaranteed a finisher's jacket.

Proceeds support trail improvements, the community, and scholarships.
