Wild Turkey Trail Runs

Join us for a Free Trail Race at Valley Falls State Park in Fairmont, WV on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026!

This event features multiple distances: 50M, 50K, 25K, 10M, and 5M. The race is free, with food and drinks provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own fuel. Race shirts are available for purchase for $25, with the last day to reserve one being 7/30/26.

Start Times:

• 50 Miler: 6:30 AM
• 50K, 25K, 10M, 5M: 7:30 AM

Course Details: The run is a moderately difficult 10-mile figure-8 loop with an aid station at the center, adjacent to the parking lot. Elevation gain is approximately 175 ft per mile. The course will be marked.

Cutoffs:

• 50 Miler: Finish 50k by 1 PM.
• 50K: 20 miles by 2 PM.
• Additional cutoffs TBD to ensure no runner is on the course after 7 PM.

Finishers: Free giveaways including car stickers and homemade medals.

Membership: Joining WVMTR (West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners) is encouraged but not required. Yearly membership is $10.

Camping: No camping at Valley Falls State Park. Nearby options include Coopers Rock and Tygart Lake State Park.
