Experience the South Padre Island Muzicians Run!

It's not just a run, it's an experience! Join us for a fun run/walk on Saturday evening, October 24, 2026, featuring live Mariachis every half mile along the course. Celebrate at the finish line with tacos, beer, and margaritas. This year's event is chip-timed and themed around Dia De Los Muertos.

Race Day Schedule (Saturday, October 24, 2026):

• 10:30 am to 4:30 pm - Expo, Packet Pick-Up & Same Day Registration
• 4:50 pm - Announcements & National Anthem
• 5:00 pm - 5k/10k/1Mile Start Time (subject to staggering)
• 5:30/5:45 pm - After Race Party Begins
• 6:30 pm (approx) - Awards
• 5:30/5:45 pm to 7:30 pm - Mariachi After Party

Location:

All activities, including the start/finish, take place at Beach Waterpark (previously Schlitterbahn Waterpark South Padre Island) at 33261 State Park Road 100, South Padre Island, Texas 78597. Free parking is available.

Courses:

Enjoy flat, out-and-back courses designed for fun, starting about one hour before sunset. The routes feature cup-less water stops (bring your own cup/bottle) and are open for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Walkers are welcome, but 10K participants must maintain a pace of less than 16:00 minutes per mile and reach the 1.55-mile marker within 26 minutes.

Awards & Costume Contest:

This is a chip-timed run with Age Group Awards and Overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Female and Male categories for both 5K and 10K. A costume contest will also be held at the after-party, encouraging themed outfits like mariachi, sugar skulls, or luchador costumes.

Virtual Run Option:

A virtual run is available for contiguous U.S. addresses. Participants can complete the race anytime, and a virtual packet (race shirt, decal, bib, and finisher medal) will be mailed the week of or after the event.
