5K for K9s

The 5K for K9s is an annual event returning to Alum Creek State Park beach. Participants can choose to run or walk in person on Saturday, September 26th, or virtually between September 24th and September 27th. All participants receive a t-shirt, swag bag, and medal. The event supports Friends of the Shelter, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding medical care for sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.

• 5K: Price: $35.00 - $40.00. Date: Saturday, September 26th. Time: 9:00 AM EDT. Registration Opens: March 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM EST.
• Virtual 5K: Price: $35.00 - $40.00. Registration Opens: March 1, 2026 at 9:30 AM EST. Virtual Results Submission Window: September 24th - September 27th at midnight.
