Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day is an annual event created 14 years ago by Camp Sweeney camper parents to raise awareness for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and provide crucial financial aid for children attending Camp Sweeney. T1D affects many children and can lead to serious medical complications, but proper management, supported by organizations like Camp Sweeney, can significantly reduce risks.

This event also fosters community fellowship, serving as a summer kickstart where campers and their families can meet counselors. It's a family-friendly morning with activities and fellowship, perfect for spending Memorial Day, rain or shine!

Events & Registration

• 5K: Price $40.00. Starts at 9:00 AM CDT. Price increases after May 10, 2026.
• Fun Run: Price $40.00. Starts at 10:30 AM CDT. Registration ends May 25, 2026 at 10:30 AM CDT.
• Sleep-In: Price $30.00. A participation option for those who wish to support without attending in person. Registration ends May 25, 2026 at 11:59 PM CDT.
