County Kids of Steel Kids Triathlon

The County Kids of Steel Triathlon (KOS) is scheduled for June 7, 2026, and is open to participants ages 3-17 years old. The event takes place at the Prince Edward Fitness and Aquatic Centre (PEFAC) in Picton, ON, serving as the start/finish and indoor pool swim location. The course utilizes the Millennium trail and PEFAC grounds, offering a safe, fun, and challenging experience with distances adapted by age group.

All participants receive a race kit, refreshments, and a participant medal. Top 3 male and female finishers in each age group also receive a medal. The race is sanctioned and insured by Triathlon Ontario (TO), ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.

KOS aims to encourage kids to be active, boost confidence, and promote life skills like goal-setting and perseverance, fostering a strong sense of community.

NEW THIS YEAR: TEEN RELAY TEAM

A TEEN RELAY TEAM event for ages 14-17 is introduced, with teams of 3 completing one leg each (SWIM, BIKE, or RUN) of the 14-17 course distance. Team captains register first and assign a team name, with teammates joining using the team name.

Note: Flotation devices, training wheels, and push/balance bikes are allowed.

Course Maps

Course maps are available at countykidsofsteel.ca. The bike course is on the Millennium trail. The 3-5 age group will use the PEFAC parking lot for their bike and run segments. All swims are in the indoor PEFAC pool. Course routes are subject to change.

Tentative Event Schedule

• 7:00 AM: Transition Area Opens
• 8:15 AM: Check-in/Race Kit Pick Up Closes
• 8:30 AM: Transition Area Closes
• 8:40 AM: Mandatory Race Briefing (Location TBC)
• 9:00 AM: Races begin (Staggered start for each age group)
• 12:00 PM: Awards Ceremony and Lunch

The PEFAC Parking Lot will be closed from 6 AM on June 7th.

Registration Pricing

Registration fees cover participation, race kit, participant medal, post-race refreshments, and a Triathlon Ontario One Day Fee. Financial assistance is available through The Children's Foundation for qualifying participants.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations by May 22 receive a 50% refund. No refunds after May 22. Registration transfers may be possible with a processing fee. Events may be cancelled without refund in case of severe weather creating unsafe conditions.
