Race Details

Devil Dog Ultras is a 100-mile, 100K and 50K event in northern Virginia put on by a strange and happy (and very experienced) group of trail running weirdos. Our loop course is primarily single-track trails, with occasional roots, rocks, and brief technical section. There are also spurts of fire road and rolling hills but no substantial climbs. The first loop for all races is 23 miles, and subsequent loops are 19.5 miles for the 100 mile and 100K. The 100k will complete three loops, and the 100-miler will complete five. The 50K will complete one loop plus a 9 mile loop. The course will be very well-marked. Each loop has three fully stocked aid stations (Camp Remi start/finish, Camp Gunny, Camp Toofy) and three unmanned aid stations (Resupply Point (RP) Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie) with only water. Crew are permitted at Camp Remi and Camp Toofy only. There’s no crew access at Camp Gunny or the RPs. You can run our race easily without crew, our volunteers are exceptional and offer unlimited hugs and encouragement! Our aid stations are so stocked you'll have plenty of hot, delicious food choices that you won't be hungry. Runners have 10 hours to complete the 50K, 20 hours to complete the 100K, 32 hours to complete the 100-miler.

Registration

General registration will open on UltraSign-up Jan. 1, 2026 at 0001. Entry is limited to a total of 300 runners. A waitlist will open once the race(s) fill. Registration closes on Nov. 27, 2026. Race swag will be announced on the Marine Corps’ birthday, Nov. 10. To register for the 100-miler, you must have completed a 50-mile race within the past two years. (This means we can find your name on an official finisher list on a race website.) There is no entry requirement for 100K, but don’t be a dummy—if you’ve never run an ultra before, this is probably not the best starting point. We’re no longer able to offer refunds or deferrals. If you find yourself unable to run, you can transfer your bib to another person. The new runner must have completed a qualifying race, and bibs cannot be transferred to a different race distance. (For example, if you signed up for the 100K, the runner taking your place must also do the 100K.) There will be a $20 fee for the new runner. You will be responsible for funding and collecting your entry asking price from the new runner. Bib transfers must be completed by Nov. 5. For to transfer your bib, please email the race directors.

Bunkhouse Reservations

We’ll once again be offering up 75 beds in the Camp Remi (start/finish) bunkhouses to registered runners on a first come, first served basis. If you’d like to sleep within eyesight of the start, this is for you. This is the best most convenient option for lodging/parking at the event. Each bed will be $30 total for Friday and Saturday nights; you must be moved out by noon Sunday afternoon. Don’t want to sweat the deadline? We’ll have a place to store your overnight gear before the start while you run in circles. Bunkhouse vehicles will be parked in a remote lot (~ 1 mile from the start/finish). Shuttle service to your vehicle will be provided Friday evening and post-race. Reserve a bunkhouse bed here . Questions? Contact us here .
