Downtown Sundown 5K

Come join the fun and run the streets and trails of Blacksburg at sunset! Prizes awarded under the stars! The Downtown Sundown 5k Race is part of Summer Solstice Festival and 2024 RunAbout Race Series.

Packet Pick-up and Registration

You can pick up packets at RunAbout Sports from 3pm to 7pm on Friday the 16th and also on race day beginning at 6pm. The registration table is located on the Alexander Black House Lawn on Draper Rd. Race day registration for the event will close promptly at 7:45pm. Race will begin on Draper Rd. near the stage at 8pm.

Registration Fee

$27.00 before 6/5th. 6/5th-6/17 $30.00. Race Day is $33.00.

Safety Requirement

No animals on the course during the race, headphones are discouraged and strollers/ baby joggers need to start at the back.

Awards

Overall: Top 3 male and female finishers will receive an award. The first male and female masters (40+) and grand masters (50+) will receive an award. Age group: Award three deep, male and female, in the following categories: below 16, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Runners are eligible for one award, which will be determined in the following order of priority: overall, masters, grand masters, age group. Awards will not be mailed.

Course

The 5K course loops from downtown through Blacksburg on roads and paved footpaths. All miles will be marked. Water will be available. A course map will be available on the Downtown Blacksburg Inc. website (downtownblacksburg.com).
