The Morningside Baptist Church Firecracker 5K is one of Huntsville's oldest 4th of July races. This year's event features a fast, out-and-back course on the Aldridge Creek Greenway, starting and finishing at Morningside Baptist Church.

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026

Start Time: 7:00 AM CDT

Location: Morningside Baptist Church, 15001 Bailey Cove Rd, Huntsville, AL 35803

Registration: Opens February 19, 2026. The race is officially sold out with 400 spots available.

Packet Pick-up:

• Thursday, July 3rd, 12 PM - 5 PM at Fleet Feet Huntsville (2722 Carl T. Jones Drive, Huntsville, AL)
• Friday (Race Day), 6:00 AM - 6:45 AM at the Race Site (Morningside Baptist Church)

Parking: Recommended parking is at Southside Park (16159 Chaney Tompson Road, Huntsville, AL 35803), with bathrooms open and a 1/2 mile greenway access to the race start. Limited parking is available at the church.

Child Care: Provided by the church, please arrive early.

Course Information:

• Start Time: 7:00 AM
• The course is an out-and-back on the Aldridge Creek Greenway.
• One aid station at the turnaround point.
• Finish line is in the Church Parking lot.
• Run on the right-hand side of the greenway.
• Line up according to pace.

Post-Race Activities:

• Food provided by the church (baked goods and snacks).
• Baskin Robbins Ice Cream provided by Fleet Feet (ticket required).
• Face painting.
• Cold plunges by Swift Recovery.
• Return 2 Sport, Functional Chiropractic, TOPO (demo shoes), and Megans's Apothecary will also be present.
• Coca-Cola will be available.

Awards: Age group awards provided by Fleet Feet & Swift Recovery. Everyone receives a finisher medal.
