Saluki Triathlon

Join us for the third annual Saluki Triathlon, hosted by SIU Recreational Sports and Services (RSS)! This sprint distance triathlon is perfect for both seasoned triathletes and first-time competitors. The event will take place on the beautiful SIU campus in Carbondale, IL.

Participants can choose between the Sprint Solo Triathlon, Sprint Relay Triathlon, or Sprint Solo Duathlon. The Sprint Solo Triathlon consists of a 0.2 mile swim in SIU Campus Lake, a five mile bike course around campus, and a two mile run on the SIU Campus Lake trail. The Sprint Relay Triathlon is the same course, but completed by a team of three. The Sprint Solo Duathlon is a seven mile course of cycling and running around campus.

The Saluki Triathlon and Duathlon are open to individuals and teams of ages 12+. Children eight years old or younger can register for the Duathlon for free. Both races will start at 8:00AM. Participants are required to bring their own bikes.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place, but an appropriate face covering is optional. There are no additional COVID-19 restrictions.
