Kirby Derby

The Kirby Derby is a fundraising event that includes a 10K run and a 5K run/walk. All proceeds go to the development of the Wellness Trail provided by the Kirby Foundation.

Event Date: May 2, 2026

Location: Forest Reserve Park, Monticello, IL 61856 US

10K Run: 8:00AM CDT. Registration opens October 1, 2025 at 12:00AM CDT. Prices: $25, $30, $35

5K Run/Walk: 8:00AM CDT. Registration opens October 1, 2025 at 12:00AM CDT. Prices: $25, $30, $35

Registration: Registration will be open until 7:30 AM on race day, but there will be no cash registration available at the park. Same-day registration will be completed on your mobile device.

T-Shirt Deadline: April 14

Bib and Shirt Pickup: Friday, 4-5:30 PM or race morning, 6:45-8:00 AM at the park pavilion. Shirts guaranteed for those registered by 11:59 PM on April 14.

Race Day Schedule:

• 7:45 AM: Announcements and National Anthem
• 8:00 AM: Race Start
• ~9:00 AM: 5K Awards Ceremony
• Immediately Following: 10K Awards Ceremony

Course Information: This is not a closed course. Volunteers will be at intersections to help guide participants and stop traffic. Two water stations will be available.
