Ovarian Cancer 5K

Event Description

This event will benefit ovarian cancer research through the Mucinous Ovarian Cancer Coalition. We are excited to offer a yearly event to raise funds and awareness about ovarian cancer. There is no screening method to detect ovarian cancer. The signs and symptoms of the disease are often vague. Some of the signs/symptoms include bloating, feeling full quickly, abdominal or pelvic pain, and urinary frequency. All women with ovaries are at risk for this disease. Sign up and run or walk this race for all the important women in your life and help contribute to ovarian cancer research!

Registration Information

• In-Person 5K Registration:
  • $35 - until June 13, 2026
  • $40 - June 14, 2026 - August 13, 2026
  • $45 - August 14, 2026 - September 26, 2026
  • $25 - Ages 5 - 18
• Admission (No 5K): $25 (Includes a beverage and t-shirt, open to ages 21+)

Runners in the 5K receive a t-shirt with a custom logo from local artist Nel McLawhorn. T-shirt only guaranteed if ordered by August 15th. Hats and tank tops are available for purchase during registration. Medals and t-shirts are not guaranteed if signed up from August 14th-September 26th. NO REFUNDS, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Schedule

• Registration/Check-in for 5K: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• 5K Start: Promptly at 10:30 AM EDT
• Awards Presentation: 11:30 AM – Pitt St OTP
• Post-Run Party: 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM (for participants 21+ with one beer ticket)

Packet Pickup

• Friday, September 25, 2026: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at Pitt St in Washington, NC (encouraged)
• Saturday, September 26, 2026: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM outside of Pitt St

Course Information

Water will be provided along the race and at the end. This race is open to walkers and running strollers. Strollers must start behind runners and walkers. NO bikes or skateboards allowed.

ALL 5K FINISHERS WILL RECEIVE A MEDAL!

• Top 3 Male & Female Overall Finishers
• Top 3: 12 & under
• Top 3: 13-16 years old

Location & Post-Run Party

The event takes place at Pitt Street Brewing Company On the Pamlico, 307 W. Main Street, Washington, NC 27889. The post-run party will feature music by Chuck Phillips and food from Food Truck & Haven's Pizza.
