Pain Is Currency Backyard Ultra

Race Description

The Pain Is Currency Backyard Ultra follows the classic Last Man Standing format: Run 4.167 miles every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains. If you fail to finish the loop within the hour, you are eliminated. There are no exceptions. This event features a unique twist: Each loop, runners must carry an additional 1-pound weight. Carry it in any pack or method you choose. The weight accumulates every hour, turning the later loops into a battle of pure will and pain tolerance. There is no second place. Only one finisher. This is an endurance trial designed to expose limits — and break them. Every hour, runners must toe the line again with the same simple objective: Survive another loop with one added pound. Rules & Format

• Loops are 4.167 miles.
• A new loop starts at the top of each hour.
• Runners must be in the corral at the bell or they are eliminated.
• No late starts. No banked time.
• You may rest, eat, change gear, or suffer in silence between loops — your time is your strategy.
• Each loop, you must add 1 additional pound of weight to your pack. Weight is provided by the race organizers
• The weight must be carried for the entire loop.
• The race continues until one runner completes a loop alone.

The Pain Is Currency Backyard Ultra will be held on a private trail system located at this property. The course utilizes a network of mountain bike trails, featuring flowy singletrack, tight turns, rolling terrain, and a mix of runnable dirt and leaf-covered forest path as well as hard pack gravel road. Expect a fast but honest loop — the kind that feels smooth at first, then slowly takes its toll. Parking and staging will be onsite. Further details will be emailed to registered runners as race day approaches.
