Year 3 of the Pere Malfait Trail Race is here! Join us for exciting trail running events at Bussey Brake. We're adding new swag and a trail cam for photos and videos.

Courses:

• 50K
• 16 Miler
• 8 Miler

Location: Bussey Brake, 5373 Boat Rd, Bastrop, LA

Dates: Saturday, November 21, 2026

Registration closes: Friday, November 20, 2026 @ 11:59 PM CT

Trail Details: The Bussey Brake Trail is an 8-mile trail around the reservoir levee, suitable for hiking, biking (non-motorized), and horseback riding. Expect varied terrain with ant piles and two aid stations. The front side is exposed to sun, while the back side offers shade.

Aid Stations: Fully manned aid station at start/finish with hot food. On-course aid station around mile 4 with ice, water, electrolytes, and snacks.

Swag: T-Shirt, headbands, and runner light.

Awards: Finisher medal for all participants. Custom plaque for top three male and female finishers.

Starting Times & Cutoffs:

• 50K: Starts at 7:00 AM with a 12-hour cutoff.
• 8 & 16 Miler: Starts at 8:00 AM with a 10-hour cutoff.

Race Day Food: PB&J, Chips, Cookies, Quesadilla, Grill Cheese Sandwich, Pickles, Candy, Crackers, Potatoes, Gummies, Soda, Water, Ice, & Electrolytes. Vegan options will be available.
