PIM Running Festival at Crathes Castle

Join the National Trust for Scotland on Saturday, September 16th for the 2023 PIM Running Festival at Crathes Castle and its grounds. This event offers three races: a 1.5k kids race, a 5k race, and a half marathon event. All races start beside the fairy-tale like Crathes Castle.

The PIM half marathon route takes you out onto the country roads to the north and east of the estate grounds. Runners will head out towards the estate of fellow NTS property, Drum Castle, eventually turning and heading back in a loop towards Crathes and finishing in front of the castle. Most of the route is on quiet, tarmac covered roads and there are also a couple of level, off-road farm track sections for a bit of variety.

The 5k and 1.5k routes have a similar start to the half marathon. However, these shorter distance events will be confined to the Crathes Castle grounds providing a good challenge for all levels of runners.

Registration for all events takes place from 9.30am with it closing for the final HM race at 11.30am. The following age restrictions are in place for each race:

PIM 1.5k Kids Race: P1 – P7: Start Time - 10.15am

PIM 5k Race: Age 12+: Start Time - 11am

PIM Half Marathon: Age 18+: Start Time - 12pm

The PIM Half Marathon at Crathes Castle will offer competitors a good personal best (PB) opportunity and all finishers will receive a medal and technical T-shirt. Runners and spectators alike will have an enjoyable and fun-filled day out and the competitor entry fee will help support the valuable conservation work of the National Trust for Scotland.

The 1.5k race will be open to all primary school aged children and will take place at 10.15am before the Half Marathon. Book your space now! There will be a range of prizes on the day and T-shirts will be provided for all participants.
