Rhinebeck Ferncliff Forest 5k Turkey Trot

Join us for the Rhinebeck Ferncliff Forest 5k Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning in 2023! This event is a great way to support Ferncliff Forest, a private preserve that has been maintained since 1964 with no government funding. The first 550 entries will receive a soft cotton T-shirt, so be sure to sign up early to reserve yours. The race will start at 8am with a gun start and chip timing, so all runners and walkers must start by 8:15am. Kids under 5 are free, and well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Walkers and strollers are also permitted, so bring the whole family!

New this year, we will be holding a raffle with chances to win prizes from local merchants, including gift certificates, gas cards, and frozen turkeys. Purchase your raffle chances online for $5 each. Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, as well as the top 3 male and female age group finishers. All kids under 10 will receive an award. The awards ceremony will take place at 9am sharp.

The course is all on paved road, with gentle rolling hills, and goes from Montgomery St/Mt Rutsen Road from Astor Dr. to Ferncliff Forest and back. Classes include male and female, with age groups under 10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

Packet pick-up will be available the night before at Rhinebeck Bagels or on race day at the Baptist church hall starting at 7am. We recommend that high-risk individuals and those traveling from high infection areas consider not attending the event. If you have COVID-related symptoms, please stay home.
