A low-key and family friendly event in a quiet location. A trail run on technical, rocky and hilly single-track trails in a hardwood forest. Every hill is runnable. Time limit: 9 hours for 50K and Half-Marathon. A very family-friendly event. Since this year’s race is the day prior to Mother’s Day, all participants who are mothers will receive an extra swag item.

Nicely-designed tee...(if registered before May 1); Unique finisher's hardware: All finishers get distance-specific finisher medals & oval stickers. ALL 50K finishers also get a Lake Perry 50K FINISHER trucker cap, IN YOUR CHOICE OF COLOR. Awards for 1st through 3rd place M/F in all distances.

There are many lodging and dining opportunities within 20 miles from the race.
Course / Location
The course is run on the Perry State Park MTB Trails, managed by Lyle Riedy of the Kansas Trails Council. The race starts at the Kimberly Drive Trailhead. The 1/4-marathon is a one loop course, the 1/2-marathon is a two loop course, and the 50 Km is a four-loop course. Each loop will have 900 feet of elevation gain.
Where the Heck is Meriden, Kansas?
It's between Topeka and Lawrence, Kansas; one-hour west of Kansas City Missouri. It's a 1-hour, 41-minute drive from MCI airport in Kansas City.
Aid Stations
The only staffed aid station (at the start/finish area) will be stocked with sports-drink and water, and Coke and Ginger Ale. There WILL BE SOME FOOD ITEMS also at the start/finish aid station. The remote (unstaffed) aid stations at mile 2.25 and mile 4.1 will only have water, so please plan accordingly. It’s advisable that you carry a hydration device.
Timing
Manual Timing will be used, so WEAR YOUR BIB NUMBER VISIBLY ON THE FRONT OF YOUR BODY. Finisher place awards for male & female 1st through 3rd place in each distance.
Pacers
Pacers are allowed solely as a safety consideration for runners in the 50-Km distance race, and ONLY for the LAST LOOP of the 50-Km for the runner that they are pacing. Only one pacer is allowed per runner. No "muling" is allowed. Pacers need to sign a waiver on the day of the race and receive a PACER bib. Canine pacers are allowed for the 1/4 & 1/2 marathon distance, only. There is a form for you to fill out with the rules for your well-behaved and “fit to run” dog on-leash.
Cut-off Times / Drop Bags
50K Cutoff Time: The cutoff for the last 50K loop will be 2:30 PM. You must leave the main aid station by that time, or you won’t be allowed to continue.
Half-Marathon Cutoff Time: 12:30 PM. You must leave the main aid station by that time, or you won’t be allowed to continue.
Drop Bags: Drop bags (if needed) are allowed for the 50-Kilometer race and 1/2-marathon. At the morning check-in you will be given the opportunity to leave your drop bag at the Main Aid Station area on tables labeled, “Drop Bags”, within sight of the finish line. Please pick-up your drop bag(s) after the race, or it will be donated to a needy local runner or recycled.
