Welcome to the 42nd Anniversary of the Sportspectrum Firecracker 5k Race for Research Run & Healthwalk. This year we celebrate the 250th Birthday of America, so the first 250 people to register will be able to register for $17.76!!!!! After the first 250 people register the price goes to $25.00.

Events:

• 5k: Price increases after April 30, 2026. Open to runners, walkers, and sightseers.
• Kids Fun Run: Open to ages 1 - 10. All kids participating will be awarded a finishers medal.

Date: Saturday, July 4th, 2026

Start Times: 5k - 8:00 a.m. CDT; Fun Run - 7:30 a.m. CDT

Location: Mall St. Vincent Parking Lot (directly behind Sears), Shreveport, LA US 71104

Course Description: 5K (3.1 miles) will start and finish at Mall St. Vincent Parking Lot. Race will proceed through historic South Highland Subdivision.

Awards: Overall Male & Female winners receive $500 each, 2nd Overall Male & Female winners receive $250 each. First 101 Men and First 100 Female Finishers awarded a commemorative mug. Beat the course record and win an additional $500!!

Post Party: Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, fresh fruit, ice cold Great Raft Beer, Ozarka Ice cold water.

Early Packet Pickup: Available at Sportspectrum, 6970 Fern Avenue, on various dates from June 25th to July 3rd, and on race day from 6:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.
