St. Matthews Independence Day 5k Run/Walk 2026

Presented by Independence Bank, this race has its origins back to the 1970's and features an unchanged course. It's a fun and fast timed race that begins and ends at St. Matthews Baptist Church (3515 Grandview Avenue). Walkers are welcome!

Race will be limited to the first 700 registrants and has sold out the past four years.

Awards and door prize drawings will take place in the parking lot following the race.

Charity: St. Matthews Baptist Church’s annual “Love 40207” campaign, benefiting St. Matthews Area Ministries (St. MAM).

Team Challenge: FREE to enter for teams of 3 to 5 registered participants (Male, Female, or Coed divisions). Fastest three on each team are scored.

Packet Pickup: Pre-race Packet Pickup and late registration on Friday, July 3rd from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Independence Bank, 3901 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40207. Race day pickup at St. Matthews Baptist Church from 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
