Event Details

Join us for the first annual Great Train Race kids fun run, the perfect way to kick off the summer! The event takes place on Saturday, June 13th, at the Train Depot by the OP Library. Participants will walk, run, skip, or hop their way along a course that starts at the Train Depot and loops along the Rails to Trails path. Distances are adjusted based on grade level.

Activities & Amenities

Before or after their run, kids can explore the OP Library inside and out. Outside the library, there will be an inflatable obstacle course, backyard games, and crafts. Local fitness vendors will also be present to discuss opportunities for a healthy, active lifestyle in Orchard Park.

Race Information

• All heats will start and end at the Train Depot.
• All participants receive an official race sticker with their number and a commemorative medal upon crossing the finish line.
• Grades 3 and above will be timed for fun, but no awards ceremony will be held.
• Runners in the UPK-K group must have an adult partner to run or walk with them. Adults run at no charge.
• Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your selected race time to check in.
• Race numbers can be picked up on the day of the event at the check-in table, or from June 8th-June 12th (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM) at the Recreation Department located at the Community Activity Center, 4520 California Rd.
