RRRC Sweetheart 8K

The RRRC Sweetheart 8K is Richmond's favorite Valentine's Day tradition, offering both an in-person race and a virtual option. This event has been selected as the official 2026 RRCA 8k National Championship Race.

In Person Race Details

• Date: Sunday, February 16th, 2026
• Time: 8:30 AM EST - 11:30 AM EST (Race Start: 8:30 AM)
• Location: Urban Farmhouse at The Millworks, Midlothian, VA 23114 US
• Course: Scenic five mile route through The Grove, Walton Park, and the historic Midlothian Coal Mine Park. Starts and finishes at The Urban Farmhouse at The Millworks.
• Awards: Top finishers overall, masters, grand masters, and age groups (chip-timed). Also includes a Couples Challenge with awards for top couple finisher and best couple photo.
• Special Features: Raffle for all registered runners, Team Costume Contest.

Virtual Race Details

• Date Range: February 14th - February 17th, 2026
• Submission: Submit results online anytime between February 13th and February 16th, 2026.
• Flexibility: Run your 8K wherever you like and with whom you please.

Registration & Pricing

• Registration Opens: November 28, 2025 at 12:00 AM EST
• Price: $30.00 - $40.00 (with a $5 discount for RRRC Members)
• Ages: Open to ages 5+
• Important Deadline: February 1st to guarantee race swag (Sweetheart 8K Shirt).

Event Rules

• Minimum age: 5 years old on or before race day.
• Prohibited items: Strollers, baby joggers, animals, bicycles, inline or roller skates, and skateboards.
• Headphones are discouraged for safety.
• Follow instructions from course volunteers and police.
• One water stop on the course; bring your own bottle or cup.

Cancellation Policy

All entry fees and processing fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Registrations cannot be deferred to the next year. Bib transfers are only allowed via the wait list after the race has sold out.

Richmond Road Runners Club (RRRC): A non-profit organization supporting running and healthy lifestyles in the Richmond Region through races, training teams, scholarships, and group runs. RRRC is one of the largest running clubs in the US with approximately 2,500 members.
