The Currituck Salt & Sound 10k, 5k and 1-Miler

Event Overview

Join us for the Salt and Sound 10k, 5k and Fun-Run at the Currituck County Rural Center on Saturday, September 19th. Experience the area's waterfowl, wetland, and neighboring horses. This unique race will take you along water thoroughfares, on boardwalks, and straightaways to the edge of the Currituck Sound. The courses are scenic but not the fastest due to multiple surfaces.

Race Features

• Well-marked courses with chip timing
• Water stations and restrooms
• Welcome runners and walkers (strollers and leashed dogs recommended to start at the back)
• Opportunity to walk a friendly dog from the local animal shelter (limited availability)

Post-Race Activities

Stay after the race for a pancake breakfast, booths from various groups/organizations, and an awards presentation.

Awards

• Cattail 10k: Overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Male and Female. Trophies to first 2 male and first 2 female finishers in each age category (29 & under, 30-45, 46-59, 60 & up).
• Boardwalk Breeze 5k: Overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Male and Female. Trophies to first 2 male and first 2 female finishers in each age category (29 & under, 30-45, 46-59, 60 & up).
• Frog-Hop 1 mile Taxi-Trot: Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female.
• Wheelchair Division: Top Male and Top Female.

All finishers in each race will receive a race medal. The first 150 registrants will receive a race t-shirt. This race proudly supports the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, Currituck 4H, Back Packs for Kids, and Kid's First.
