About the Event
10K Run for the Osprey
Just like clockwork, ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) depart every fall for warmer climates in the tropics. Help us bid farewell to Lacawac’s resident osprey with our Fall 10K Run/Walk! This scenic course winds through diverse landscapes, supporting habitat conservation efforts. The Lacawac osprey nest, perched high above Heron Pond across from our Education Center, is a seasonal home to these incredible birds before they embark on their journey south. Proceeds of the run/walk will benefit the upkeep and maintenance of Lacawac's Browning Beaver Meadow Sanctuary, a former sanctuary of the NEPA Audubon Society.
What: 10K Trail Run and 5K Walk
When: Saturday, September 6, 2025
Where: Lacawac Sanctuary William E. Chatlos Environmental Education Center, 182 Sanctuary Road, Lake Ariel PA 18436
Awards: Cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers. Awards will also be given to the top three male and female finishers in the below age groups: 0-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
