2025 Trailpalooza Run

Event Details

Santa Maria Valley Open Space presents Trailpalooza 2025 with 0.0, 5, 10 and 15 mile run options. This is a unique opportunity to run in the majestic Solomon Hills. Broad views from the scenic 101 corridor to the historic Bicknell townsite just minutes outside of town.

All distances start from the Newlove Picnic Grounds in the Solomon Hills, south of Orcutt. A 5 mile loop climbs from the picnic grounds then meanders south with some steep climbs eventually making an out and back jaunt to the Solomon Peak and closing the loop back at the Picnic Grounds. Two laps is the 10 mile course and three laps for the 15 mile course.

Event Schedule

• Race Day: Saturday June 7, 2025
• 8am - Packet Pickup
• 9am - All race distances start
• 12noon - Awards
• 12:30pm - Cut-off for any runner starting their final loop (20min/mile)

The course is approximately 5 miles with 900 feet of elevation gain. Two laps for 10 miles, three laps for 15 miles. There will be one aid station at the start/finish. No strollers, no dogs, no pacers on course. Please electronically sign the waivers during signup. No waiver = no running.

Parking

Parking is near the start/finish and you are welcome to self-support.

The Newlove Picnic Grounds are located just south of Orcutt...

From the North (Orcutt, Santa Maria, AG...):
101 south Exit 101 on the right
1.7 miles past Clark Ave
Turn right through gate and follow signs to Picnic Grounds 0.7 miles

From the South (Los Alamos, Buellton, Los Olivos, Santa Barbara...):
101 North Exit 101 on the right
9.4 miles past Los Alamos
Turn right, turn right through tunnel under 101, turn right again
Turn left through gate and follow signs to Picnic Grounds 0.7 miles
