4th Annual Lover's Lane Valentine Boardwalk 5k

Event Info

Join the Seashore Striders for their opening event of the new year with a 5k out and back course beginning on the boardwalk and running north to the turn-a-round at Gordon's Pond, Cape Henlopen State Park. Join the fun as we have the traditional individual 5k division.

KIDS 1/4 MILE FUN "CUPID" RUN IS FREE WITH NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED AND NO TSHIRT. At 9:50 am the kid's will race 200m north on the boardwalk and 200m south to the finish line as the 5k runners gather by the finish and cheer on the young runners.

RACE LOCATION: The bandstand at 1 Rehoboth Avenue; Rehoboth Beach, DE. 19971

RACE TIME: Kids Dash @ 9:50 am and 5k at 10:00 am EST.

Registration & Pricing

RACE REGISTRATION for Individual 5k:

• $30.00 Early-Registration through February 8, 2026
• $35.00 Race Week from February 9th at 12:01 am - February 13th at 11:59 pm.
• $40.00 Race Day "Last Chance" February 14th Registration from 12:00am - 9:50am

Please Note that expenses in Rehoboth Beach (Police, Bandstand & Permit Fees) are higher than other locations so we have no choice but to raise our event registration fee. We thank you for your understanding.

2. Race Day/On-Site Registration: Most Seashore Events begin on-site registration 1 hr./60 min before the start of the event.
3. Mail-In Registration: Download and print the Universal Entry Form. Mail completed paper registration to: Seashore Striders; 9 Gander Lane; Lewes, DE. 19958. Please mail by Monday of Race Week to be guaranteed an event t-shirt/swag. Make checks payable to “Seashore Striders”.

3.11 mile out & back course from the Boardwalk at Rehoboth Avenue to the entrance to Cape Henlopen State Park at Gordon's Pond.

Course Etiquette

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO RUN ON THE COURSE THAT IS MARKED WITH ARROWS AND CONES. PLEASE STAY ON THE ROAD WHERE IT IS MARKED AND POLICE ARE STATIONED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RACE INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE EVENT.

Seashore Strider Course Guidelines

• BIKES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE ON THE COURSE RIDING ALONG/PACING ANY REGISTERED RUNNER.
• BANDITS (NON REGISTERED) RUNNERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE IN THE RACE RUNNING ALONG/PACING ANY REGISTERED RUNNER.
• HEADPHONES/EAR PODS ARE DISCOURAGED WEARING IN BOTH EARS DUE TO SAFETY OF HEARING TRAFFIC.

Race Timing

Seashore Strider Event Production will chip time the event using the Chronotrack chip timing system.

Race Amenities

Long Sleeve 100% Pre-Shrunk Cotton Race shirts guaranteed to all PRE-Registered participants by 2/10/2025. Refreshments, chocolate, and bagels when available from Surf Bagel.

Awards

5k Individual Awards...Overall Male & Female, Master Male & Female, and top 3 finishers in 10 year age groups from 9 & U to 70 & O.

Race Parking

Parking will be on Rehoboth Avenue for this event and meters are not in effect.

Refunds/Deferral

The Seashore Striders have a "No Refund" policy, however we make every possible attempt to please our client with the following options: 1. Transfer to a future Seashore Strider owned event of equal value before the end of the current year. 2. Donate your entry fee to the charity associated with the event or to the Seashore Strider Youth Running program. 3. Transfer/Defer to the following year at the same event.
