7th Annual Forging Families 5K/10K and 1 Mile Fun Run

This event supports Sacred Selections, a not-for-profit organization that assists families in their quest to adopt a child. It's a pretty amazing organization. They operate with a volunteer board and minimal administrative costs. All proceeds from this race will be donated to Sacred Selections to reduce the financial burden on a family willing to give a child a home. Funds will be sent directly to Sacred Selections to assist families in the process of adoption. In the last six years, we have donated more than $66,000 to this cause and our event has grown each year. We are excited to offer USATF Certified 10K and 5K courses as well as a 1-mile fun Run (not certified)! Contact Joel Dixon @ [email protected] with any questions.

• 10K: $35 (before 11/15/2025), $40 (after 11/15/2025), $45 (race day); 8:00AM - 10:00AM CST
• 5K: $25 (before 11/15/2025), $30 (after 11/15/2025), $35 (race day); 8:00AM - 10:00AM CST
• 1 Mile Fun Run: $15 (before 11/15/2025), $20 (after 11/15/2025), $25 (race day); 9:15AM - 10:00AM CST
• Sleep In Special: $20; 8:00AM - 10:00AM CST (registration ends January 8, 2026)

Race day registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Shelby County Arts Council. The course (USATF #AL19060JE) is fast and flat and promises a great opportunity at your next PR! We will begin and end at the brand-new Shelby County Arts Council facility. The 10K course will basically be a double loop (USATF#AL21027JE). Although the course is an open course, the City of Columbiana is partnering with us and providing police to control the flow of traffic to ensure runners are safe.
