Armstrong Breaking Bread Presents: 8th Annual "A Walk For Hunger"

Description: Every September, Armstrong works to Avenge Hunger by collecting resources to help supply community feeding programs and bring awareness to the need that exists. A Walk For Hunger will provide financial support to community feeding programs in the communities served by the Zelienople Armstrong Office. The local feeding programs we partner with are The Lighthouse Foundation, Southwest Butler Food Cupboard, Gleaner's Food Bank, Victory Family Church, Inspired Hearts & Hands, and Holy Redeemer Social Services in Ellwood City. This year, we're excited to announce Katie Mueller will be our first-ever high school senior from Mars Area School District. Katie will help with Breaking Bread's 4 key initiatives: Raising Awareness for students and people in the community, volunteering at our local food banks for food collection and distribution, and collecting food donations and money to be directly distributed to our food banks!

Schedule:

• Registration: 9:00 AM EDT
• Opening Ceremony: 10:00 AM EDT
• Walk: Immediately after opening ceremony

Course: 1 lap (approximately 1 mile), option to complete 3 laps for a 5K.
