Azalea Classic 2024

The Azalea Classic 2024 is a family-friendly event taking place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in University Park, MD. Organized by the University Park Elementary School Parent Teacher Association, this event offers a variety of races for participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Participants can choose from the following courses:

1. Azalea Classic 5K: This USATF-certified 5K race is perfect for runners looking for a challenge. The registration fee for this race is $30.00 if registered by April 13. The price will increase to $40.00 from April 14 through May 2 and will be $50.00 on Friday, May 3.

2. Val Creighton 1K Family Fun Run: This 1K race is designed for families to enjoy together. The registration fee for this race is $15.00 throughout the registration period.

3. 1-mile Challenge Run: This 1-mile race is a great option for participants who prefer a shorter distance. The registration fee for this race is $15.00 throughout the registration period.

All proceeds from the event will benefit programs at the University Park Elementary School.

The event will take place rain or shine, and dogs and strollers are welcome. Participants should be prepared for street closures along the race route, which will begin at 7am on race day.

Registration for the event will be open until the end of packet pick-up on Friday, May 3 at 6:30pm. Packet pick-up will take place in the University Park Elementary School gymnasium on Friday, May 3 from 12:00pm to 6:30pm and on Saturday, May 4 from 7:30am to 8:30am.

For those interested in sponsoring the race as a Family Sponsor, a donation of $120 or more can be made on the race's donate page. Family sponsors will have their names printed on the back of the race shirt. The deadline for family sponsorships is April 13.
