Schedule
The Bandit Grand Prix is a brand new criterium format running competition. The competition will have separate fields for men and women in the Open Races and Finals. All athletes will compete in a 5k Open Race - there will be multiple Open Races of 250 athletes throughout the afternoon. The top finishers of each Open Race will advance and race again in either the 3K Super Final or 3K B Final: Top 25 finishers in each heat will advance to the Super Final. Positions 26 - 75 will advance to the B Final. All Finals will be held after sunset. Participants in the Super Final will line up on a starting grid based on their Open Race finishing position; the higher the finishing position, the higher the starting position. The winner of the Super Final will be crowned champion of the inaugural Bandit Grand Prix, and will stand atop the podium with other top finishers from both the Super Finals and B-Finals. All races will be held on a technical, multi-lap circuit. The course will wind its way through the interior of the Brooklyn Storehouse and on Brooklyn Navy Yard streets. The surface will be a mixture of asphalt, gravel, and concrete. All races will also be chip-timed and accompanied by photo-finish technology.
