Barkin' Mad Ultra 2025

The Barkin’ Mad Ultra is a first-of-its-kind event in Australia that invites you to run with your canine friend on beautiful native forest trails. This festival is not only about racing but also about raising $30,000 for the Victorian Hair of the Dog Charity and supporting the Baw Baw Shire dog shelter. The event welcomes 400 participants to partake in various distances including a 2 km walk, and distances of 5 km, 10 km, 20 km, and 50 km runs over the course of the weekend.

• Date: October 4-5, 2025
• Location: Rokeby Recreation Reserve, Rokeby VIC, Australia
• Race Distances: 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, 20 km, and 50 km
• Target Fundraising: $30,000
• Entry Fees: Starting from $35 for the 2 km walk, up to $275 for the 50 km run.
• Participants: 400 human-dog teams

Requirements:

All dogs must be on leashes throughout the race, and owners should ensure their dogs are conditioned for the running. Each race distance has specific mandatory gear requirements for participants.
