Event lasts 2 hours 40 minutes
In his last year as mayor, Klaas Reimer Barkman hid his favourite books around Steinbach. Now you’re going to find them.
7:49am at KR Barkman Park (by the fire hall) on Saturday, April 12. Rain, snow, or shine. Registration starts 7:00, runner meeting 7:39. You won’t want to miss it.
Entry fee, to be delivered at time of event
$2.25 cash (no change given)
1 bag of knack zoat (sunflower seeds)
Be prepared to
- Run around for about 25km (5 laps or varying distance, exact distance is up to you)
- Read a map for navigation
- Be self-sufficient for fueling
- Find books
This is a Barkley-inspired event, but don’t worry, you’ll be home by lunch (depending on when you eat lunch). There will be elements of way-finding and the unknown involved, but the chance of hallucinations is low(er).
As an open-course event, be sure to follow all rules of the road and be smart. You are responsible for you.
