Barney's Run for Warriors

Join us for the 11th Annual Barney's Run for Warriors on November 9th, 2019 at 2325 Lake Park Drive in Albany, GA. This event is dedicated to rescuing two lives - a veteran and a dog. We are proud supporters of K9’s for Warriors, a non-profit organization that provides highly trained service dogs to veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, and/or MST. Ninety-five percent of the dogs trained by K9’s are rescued from shelters with high kill rates. The veterans that graduate from the K9’s for Warriors program are able to resume a more normal life.

We offer a variety of courses to choose from, including a 13.1-mile half marathon, a 10K, a 5K, and a 1-mile fun run/walk. We also have military categories for the 10K, 5K, and half marathon. You can even bring your dog to run with you on the 1-mile, 5K, or 10K. Our courses are USATF certified and nearly flat, paved, and well-marked through Albany neighborhoods. We have plenty of water stations, pit stops, great t-shirts, and swag bags.

Help stop the 22 daily suicides of our military veterans and honor them with a lifesaving service dog. Give them both a new leash on life. T-shirt registration deadline is November 2nd, and we offer sizes for youth and adults.

We will be awarding medals to the top three male and female finishers in 16 age groups for the 10K and 5K, and finishing medals for the 13.1 and 1-mile races. The Best American Spirit School Award will be given to the school with the most participants in the 13.1, 10K, 5K, and 1-mile races.

On race day, registration will be from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. The half marathon starts at 8:30 a.m., the 10K and 5K start at 9:00 a.m., and the 1-mile starts at 9:05 a.m. Come out and support our veterans and their furry companions!
