Join us for a new family-friendly program where we explore local history on a bike! May is National Bike Month and National Historic Preservation Month. We are excited to celebrate these activities together with a 4-mile bike ride on the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail.
The ride departs from the Ballahack Boat Ramp at Noon, 12:00 p.m. We will visit local landmarks to discuss the history and architecture that is unique to Chesapeake, including the Superintendent's House, the Cornland School, and Douglas Road.
We encourage participants to bring their own bikes and personal safety equipment. This program is limited to 25 participants, with a limited number of bikes available for rent. If interested in renting PRT equipment, please call (757) 382-1360.
Waiting List Information: Individuals added to a waitlist are not guaranteed participation. Guaranteed participation is only granted to individuals who have registered prior to the class reaching its maximum enrollment number.
