BIRR Hilo to Volcano 50K Run/Walk/Relay
The annual Hilo to Volcano 50K Run/Walk/Relay is on Saturday, January 10, 2026. This challenging 31-mile run gains approximately 4000 feet in elevation. It's a great accomplishment and super fun as a relay!
Location: Banyan Drive to Volcano, Hilo, HI 96720 US
Start Times:
- Solo Runners: 6:00 am
- Relay Team Runners: 6:15 am
Course: The course utilizes shoulders on Hwy 11 and finishes at the Cooper Center in Volcano. Relay teams change runners every 2 miles at the even mile markers. There are no aid stations along the course; runners should bring their own water and nourishment.
Post-Race: A light lunch, snacks, drinks, and medals will be provided at the end. The race ends at 1:00 pm.
Packet Pickup: Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, January 9, 2026, 3:00-5:30 pm and race morning 5:30-5:50 am. No day-of registration.
