About the Event
BMF UTA UTA22 Course - 18-32km (15/02/26)
13 WEEKS TO ULTRA TRAIL AUSTRALIA! Perfect training run for those wanting to see the UTA22 course plus many parts of the UTA50 and UTA100 courses, get some solid stair training done or just get a cruisy guided run in the Blue Mountains. The experienced trainers from BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS have teamed up again with THE BODY MECHANIC. We align our BMF UTA Training Runs with the STREEK UTA Base Training Plans (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced) and the Event Specific UTA11, UTA22, UTA50, UTA100 and UTA Miler Race Training Plans. This is the end of Week 3 of Streek 16 Week Race plans for Ultra Trail Australia. The first long run of the 16 week race program before a recovery week.
The training course will be UTA22 course with some added parts of the other UTA courses added to get the extra KM. There will also be options to run less than 22km. The training course route may change due to National Parks/Council closures, landslides, floods or any unforeseen circumstances. We will update details as soon as possible.
WHY? This is a great training run to get a look at the UTA22 course and parts of the other UTA courses - UTA11, UTA50, UTA100 and UTA Miler. See where you are at with your training. The Run Trainers at BMF have a wealth of experience to pass on - race prep, race gear, training and race nutrition, race strategy, pacing and info on the course. We do not leave runners and walkers behind. We have plenty of options with the different pace groups and distances. Our Run Trainers are highly experienced and will see who is doing it easy and also those who are finding it not so easy!
CAR SHUTTLES: As the start and finish of this training run are in different locations we will organise car shuttles and taxi buses from Scenic World to Queen Victoria Hospital to get you to the start. Your car will then be at the finish at Scenic World. You are more than welcome to also organise your own car shuttles if you have a group of friends running.
PACE GROUPS. We'll have 3 Pace Groups - The MIGHTY TURTLES, a MID PACED group and the SPEEDY HARES. We may even have a Walker Group and a Walk Trainer if required.
Extra KM. For those wanting extra distance we will organise up to 10km extra km for the Mid Paced and Speedy Hares groups. This will be done by starting the extra km earlier than the pace groups and doing a different section of the UTA50/100/Miler course at the end.
Less KM. If you want less distance we can start you at the Kedumba Gate and also guide you on a shortcut of the Sewer Plant to make the total distance around 18km.
GEAR. We will be using this as a race day prep run and ask you to bring the UTA22 Mandatory gear.
START TIMES. We have an early start time as it will be hot late morning in February in the Blue Mountains.
- 6:30am - Car Shuttles/Taxis/Buses leave from Scenic World.
