Bucks for Bucs 5K Race and Fun Walk

Event Details

The Bucks for Bucs 5K Race and Fun Walk supports the Bucks for Bucs Educational Foundation, which serves the Chartiers-Houston School District, the home of the Buccaneers. We expand the educational opportunities of students through scholarships, teacher grants, and community events.

The 5K race runs through a residential neighborhood with rolling hills and finishes on the Chartiers-Houston High School stadium track. The 1 Mile Fun Walk starts at the same time as the 5K. A Kids Mile Run on the track will take place at 8:30 a.m., before the main race.

The event includes pre- and post-race food and drink for competitors. 50/50 and Silent Auction tickets will be available for purchase. A cotton shirt and goodie bag are guaranteed to all who register on or before March 16, 2026. Door prize tickets will be included with registration.

Special Awards will be given to the top three men and women overall in the 5k Race. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in various age categories for the 5K Race. The 1 mile walk is for fun.

5K Course Description

The 5K course starts next to the press box at Chartiers-Houston Stadium, follows stadium driveways, and goes through residential streets including McGovern Road, Adlin Ave., and Country Barn Road, looping around Fair Meadow Circle before returning to the stadium track for the final 300 meters to the finish line.

1 Mile Fun Course Description

The 1 Mile Fun Course starts at Chartiers-Houston Stadium, follows stadium driveways and McGovern Road, then turns onto Silver Maples Rd. and Walnut Street before returning via Green Street and McGovern Road to the finish line at the stadium.

Event Schedule

• Race Bag Pick-up/Registration: 7:00 am - 8:45 am at Chartiers-Houston Field House
• Kid's Mile: 8:30 a.m.
• 5K Race Begins: 9:00 am
• 1 Mile Walk Begins: 9:00 am
• Awards Begin: Following the last runners/walkers

Arrival Info

Arrive at least 30 minutes before the race start. Participants pick up race bags at Chartiers-Houston Field House. Parking is available near the field house. The race starts and finishes at Chartiers-Houston Stadium. Warm-up can be done on the track or in the field house gymnasium. Awards will be presented in the field house after the race.

What to Wear

Dress according to the weather. Watches, I-pods, and headphones are acceptable during the race.
