About the Event
Cake by the Lake 5K and One Mile Cakewalk
The Fourth Annual Cake by the Lake 5K and One Mile Cakewalk will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025 on the Withlacoochee State Trail. Starting at Liberty Park in Inverness, 5K runners will set off at sunrise, followed by one-mile walkers shortly after.
Both routes showcase the scenic beauty of the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes. Participants can expect finisher's medals, music, festivities, and, of course, delicious cake and ice cream by the lake. Unique cake plate age-level awards will be awarded for the 5K participants in five-year increments.
This event does not include T-shirts but promises fun race swag! Kids up to 12 can race for only $10, while teens 13-17 can register for $15. Adults 18 and older will also receive unique swag and are eligible for awards.
Packet pickup starts at 6:30 a.m. on race day, and both events start at Liberty Park. Come join the fun!
