Get ready to go nuts in Edenton! Join us on Saturday, October 4, 2025, for the Nut Run, an exciting kickoff to the 50th Annual Peanut Festival! Runners will enjoy a one-of-a-kind race experience through the scenic streets of historic Downtown Edenton and the rich, rolling farmland of Chowan County—home to generations of peanut growers. Choose from a 5K, 10K, or take on the 15K Nutty Challenge by running both back-to-back! The course blends charming waterfront views, colonial architecture, and stretches of active peanut fields just before harvest—offering a crisp fall morning full of Southern charm and small-town energy. After crossing the finish line, stick around for a full day of festival fun:

• The Peanut Festival Parade rolls right after the race
• A sack race for kids brings classic fun to the courthouse green
• Live porch music fills the air throughout downtown

All proceeds benefit Main Street Edenton, supporting downtown revitalization, events, and historic preservation efforts that keep our beloved town vibrant and growing. Course (Measured via GPS):

• 5k - road course through historic Downtown Edenton
• 10k - combination of road and trail course

Registration: $35 - 5k $45 - 10k $55 - Nutty Challenge (10k+5k=15k)

• Race Day Pickup 📍 At the race location 🕕 Saturday, October 4th | Starting at 6:00 AM

Awards: Top 3 Overall Male and Female finishers of the 15K Challenge will receive an award. Top Overall Male and Female finishers of both the 10K and 5K will receive awards. Top 3 Male and Female finishers in the following age groups, in both the 10K and 5K: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
