Celebrating 21 years of The Edinburgh Santa Fun Run & Walk! Sunday 7th December 2025, fundraising Santa's & Elves will run, jog or walk around West Princes Street Gardens. Spread over a 2.5km circuit, this event is a great way to enjoy time with friends and family, whilst raising money for a deserving cause, When You Wish Upon A Star. What’s more, you don’t have to be a runner to take part. All monies raised from the Edinburgh Santa Fun Run & Walk 2025 will be used to help fund magical Wishes for children aged 4-16 who live with life-threatening or terminal illnesses.

Event details and schedule

The Edinburgh Santa Fun Run & Walk 2025, Sunday 7th December at West Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh. Registration opens 9.30am | Registration closes 10:45am. Festive Warm up from 9.30-10.45am. Fun run & walk starts at 11am. Event Finishes from 12:30pm. Event finishing time will be dependant on the number of participants taking part.

Parking & Travel

Parking: There are multiple on Street paid parking facilities around the city centre of Edinburgh. Travel: West Princes Street Gardens is at a central point off Princes Street where you can gain access to the gardens from all gates. West Princes Street Gardens is located on ALL major bus routes and tram lines: please visit: www.lothianbuses.com/ for more information. If coming from out of Edinburgh via train, we would recommend choosing Edinburgh Waverley Station as your destination point and then walk over to West Princes Street Gardens.

On the Day

Please bring with you: Booking confirmation, Photographic ID. We all love the Scottish weather and with our event being held in December we ask all Santa's and Elves to think about leaving behind their Flip Flops, shorts and t-shirts for the event, dress accordingly and have sensible footwear for the time of year. We are working with the team at West Princes Gardens who will have the paths cleared for our event! Personal items and bags: When You Wish Upon a Star takes no responsibility of any personal items. Do not bring large bags with you for the Edinburgh Santa Fun Run & Walk. Strictly no bag drop off during the event. ALL participants must keep all belongings on them at all times. Please remain vigilant at all times and if you are concerned at any time please inform the Wish event team member who will be wearing a high vis vest.
