This race precedes the Edison Festival of Light Grand Parade. Participants run along the streets of downtown Fort Myers that is lined with 200,000 (est.) cheering spectators gathered for the Grand Parade. The starting line will be South of Edwards Drive on Jackson Street. Proceeds go to the Edison Festival of Light, a non-profit 501(c) 3 tax-exempt organization that works with many other local non-profit and profit organizations to promote the arts, culture and history of Fort Myers and Southwest Florida. Through scheduled and sanctioned events, the Festival helps to promote and support local groups.

Course Map

Heat Warning

Temperatures/humidity can be high in South Florida. Participants should drink plenty of fluid (non-alcoholic) for 48 hours prior to, during and upon finishing the race. Beware of heat-injury symptoms (dizziness, no sweating, nausea, cramps, redness, incoherent speech and thoughts). Seek immediate assistance if symptoms occur. Wear loose, light-colored clothing.

Chip Timing

This event will be timed with the ChronoTrack Bib Tag Technology by the Fort Myers Track Club. Your Timing Strip is attached to your race number. Do not remove this tag, fold or wrinkle your race number. Do not cover your race number (Tag) with a jacket. Simply pin all four corners to the front of your running shirt.
